Feminist Neuroethics Class

With funding from the Neuroethics Program at the Emory Center for Ethics, Cyd Cipolla and Kristina Gupta are co-teaching an undergraduate course called "Feminism, Sexuality, and Neuroethics," which is cross-listed in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology. Using neuroscientific research on sexuality as a case study, the course is designed to introduce students to the fields of Neuorethics and Feminist Science Studies. Students are being asked to consider not only how science impacts society, but how scientific research is shaped by cultural assumptions, with the ultimate aim of discerning how we can all be responsible consumers and/or producers of neuroscientific knowledge.
