Professional Background

Upon the completion of my graduate program, I'll have earned a master's degree (MS) and a doctoral degree (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology. Along with the simultaneous completion of accreditation hours through The American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists, I am on track to graduate with licensure for the practice of clinical sexology.

How has being a WGSS graduate from Emory shaped your life and career?

My time spent in the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program at Emory was the most significant contributor to my preparedness for life beyond my undergraduate studies. The rigorous curriculum sharpened my critical thinking and writing skills, and the robust pedagogy allowed me to tailor my academic experience to my unique interests. The conversations I’ve had with faculty and colleagues throughout the program came to shape the framework for many of my current research endeavors, including my doctoral dissertation. I’m most grateful, however, for the role that Emory’s WGSS program played in cultivating my praxis as an activist of social justice, which has come to define my personal, professional, and academic identity.
